statcounter.com is what i use. it’ll generate some code, you drop it in your side bar and it will immediately start telling you who is coming from where and when.
it’s delightfully invasive

Also…you may want to check out Google Analytics, which is like statcounter, but has way more info. It’s just as addictive.
