It was pretty obvious you were referring to me as ignorant but thanks for clarifying. I know you don’t care what colour anyone is, because you don’t have to think about race on a daily basis. It wasn’t “anyone” calling him this name, it was he, himself. And, no, I’m not a troll; just a regular reader who is getting a little sick of reading this blog. Why in your latest post you blatantly mock a butch lesbian’s appearance. I guess it’s fun, for sure, but at whose expense.
Haha, I’ve been reading this blog for a couple of weeks now and only now decided to post. I understood what Jami meant here. If you continually read something that is continually offending you, why the flying apeshit are you here?
Why, because it’s racist? You don’t think a member of a privileged group telling a member of a historically oppressed group what they can and can’t call themself is the tiniest bit racist?
You seem to have twisted my wording here — I could not care less what a black person does or does not call themselves. It isn’t my place to say and really – it doesn’t matter to me. However, if I heard this term used in passing, as in someone’s nickname, it would cause me to do a double-take… Just the same as any racial slur. Calling someone a cunt because they’re a cunt is one thing. If I heard anyone call a black person a raccoon, yes, it would cause me to raise my eyebrows and go, “WHAT?”
And you’re suggesting that makes ME racist? What the fuck ever dude.
What I was calling ignorant wasn’t this man’s use of the word raccoon, but rather YOUR suggestion that because of the color of someone’s skin, this gives them the right to toss about racial slurs. I don’t care what color you are — racial slurs are not okay in my book.
I was calling YOU ignorant. And I also think you’re a troll. Get a hobby, you wet-blanket dipshit. This blog is supposed to be fun.
I agree Jami, although you’d be surprised how many people use them to describe themselves. I was declared ‘old’ because I told my sisters’ 9 year old African-American friend to quit calling herself a n*gger.

Help me get to NYC for my birthday in November. The tentative plan is to find a place to have a Halloween costume party! How fun, right?
I've worked out where to stay, I just need help getting moolah together.
And of course, if you're in NYC, you should totally come. It will be ridiculous. So far, donations have been received by Lorrie, Bridgete, Johnny, Rick, Kari, Wesley, Shana, Joanna, Colleen, Kelsey, Janette, Erin, Tara, Candace, Sarah, Claire, Meryl, & Jessica!!! THANK YOU GUYS!

Anyways, never mind. I probably overreacted. I enjoy your blog and I apologize if I seem too sensitive.
