So, we see it all the time… Ugly people taking ugly pictures (What?! C’mon… It’s true!) But you always feel for them. Really, they can’t help that they’re unattractive and they’re just doin’ their best. Work with what the good lord gave you, right?
But what about people who are relatively attractive…? I mean, people who have cute pictures of themselves up but right next to it have these GOD AWFUL pictures up — what gives? Why do this?
And I’m not talking about a picture of you not at your best… I mean, if you’re a marathon runner, I’m sure the picture of you crossing the finish line after eleven-teen thousand miles isn’t the cutest picture you’ve got of yourself — but it serves a purpose. It communicates that you enjoy running and, for someone out there who is also a runner, would be attractive.
Maybe you like sailing…
- He's a fairly attractive man, right? But all we can take from these images are that A) he enjoys sailing and, B) he isn't photogenic while at sea.
At least we can look at his picture and put together his reasoning behind adding this not-so-attractive version of himself on his page — he’s looking for a girl who likes sailing! Easy!
The point is, there’s a point.
But you know, every so often you come across a picture when you’re uploading from your camera and you’re like, “Oh good GOD! How much did I drink?” or something along those lines. Most logical people delete those pictures or embrace them with their friends via Facebook or something like that, “Oh shit. Remember that time I got so wasted that I was spinning on the dance floor alone? Good times, good times…”
But you don’t put those pictures on your personal ad. You.just.don’t.
Well… You and I may not… Some people, well… I guess they have lower expectations when it comes to putting their best foot forward:
