This one time, at band camp…

Young firefighter/teacher looking for fun – 22 (NW Houston)
Im 22. Firefighter and teacher at an elementary. Im really into the arts. Im a retired professional touring and producing musician but got burnt out. I still write music and am currently working on a book at the moment. I love all types of music but mainly rock…Stone Temple Pilots, Hendrix, Doors, 311…list could go
on forever. Im really into movies and the art of film making. Those are my biggest past times. I love helping people. I like going out to sushi bars and pubs….im not big into clubs. I drink socially and don’t smoke. I like doing the coffee and a conversation thing. I enjoy life altogether. Im really sarcastic and always try to see the good out of the bad. I’m not sure what im looking for at the moment. Just someone fun. e-mail with a pic and a little about yourself or a myspace. Looking forward to hear from you.
Our email exchange:
Kristen: Saw this “baby” wreck and though i have seen worse, i LOL’d about him being a “retired” burnt out musician…. he’s 22 for christ sake!
Jami: I can see how he would get burned out. I mean, what’s that he’s playing? An alto sax? From what I hear, Kenny G works hard and plays harder. And the groupies! Oh, hell. The groupies on a new age/easy listening tour can be unbearable! “Sign my tit! I want to stick your alto sax up my pussy!”
I mean, for real guys, look at Kenny’s vertical leap here! You know how you jump that high? Four day binges on Crystal Meth, that’s how. Life in the seedy underbelly of Easy Listening ain’t all that easy.
Also — I pretty much want to write a guy off if he’s on MySpace still. I mean, c’mon dude. Ever heard of Facebook? GET WITH THE TIMES, dude!

I’m gonna hurt myself after typing this, but… er… that’s not an alto sax, that’s a soprano sax.
I’m gonna go jump off a building, now. My years of band camp have finally sealed the deal on my social awkwardness.

And the way you jump that high is by kneeling on a green block and buying a copy of teh Photoshopz. No way our boy Kenny did that jump without messin’ up that sweet-ass fro.

Oh, Stephen… I know that took a lot out of you. Don’t be too hard on yourself. You can blame your parents for the fact that you were in band.
Thanks for the correction. Clearly, I’m WAY too cool to know my brass instruments (it is brass right? or is this considered a woodwind? ah, fuck it!)

Don’t elementary school teachers usually have to have college degrees? With all his professional musicianship and fire fighting, I don’t see much time for that…
Oh, and speaking of nerdy: I used to play the oboe. Never went to band camp, though.

In defense of MySpace, I’d much rather send a guy that profile (yep, still got one) than connect on Facebook. My MS profile is open to the public and has pics and limited information beyond the basics (music, hobbies, etc.), and I use it mostly to keep up with bands. My FB pate, on the other hand, is pretty complete and is completely locked down. I’m connected only to people I know, including about 75% of my extended family. No way in hell I want some random dude getting that much info about me up front.
Different approaches to the ‘tubes, I guess, but I find MS useful for this kind of thing precisely because no one uses it anymore!

Re: Myspace linking –> To me, it’s just lazy. It’s like, you don’t want to spend the time telling someone about you. I am immediately turned off when someone does this. If you can’t make the effort to type something into your profile, what kind of effort are you going to make for me?

Well, he’s either fibbing about his age or he’s fibbing about his experience. But at least he’s not telling us how great he is at pleasuring his ladies!

Kinda with you on the MySpace linking, here. Except for the Facebook thing. Like Julie said, my facebook has WAY more info on it about me, and I’m linked only to family and actual friends. I don’t think I’d want some one knowing all that all up front.
