I liked it too. I really liked the invitation to contact with some jump start questions, that's a great idea. But I too was confused by the acronyms for the TV shows and music. I'm guessing she was working with a limited amount of space in that field. While I don't watch TV I do have a fair sense of what's on out there in TV land, and I never did figure out what they were.

An no offense James, I'd never post that I was a regular reader of DW on my dating profile either. Although now that I think about it, it might be a great filter, and I'm all about the filters. If someone saw that, came to your site and got pissy or offended, that would be something to be thankful for escaping. Hmmmm. If I ever put up a profile again, I'm going to seriously consider it.

I liked her idea of posting her regular websites - every bit as important as TV/movies/music, if you believe that those things give you insight to a person.

I kind of want to kick her so she will stop being happy.

A little bit bitter, Jane? Why no, of course not!

She's beautiful, charismatic and intelligent, honestly I have no idea why she would need a profile, seems like she would have no problems getting dates.

Lovely woman. With whom can we fix her up? Wonder if nice guy Tad from "crapped in my car" is available.

Amy, we're rootin' for ya!

Hi everyone - that's me. Thanks for the encouragement. I'd love to have coffee with you, I still just can't seem to find decent guys who want to!

As for the abbreviations, well, Match.com doesn't give you a lot of characters to work with to convey the things I want to. I had to edit a TON to get it under the limits. Imagine what I left out!! I missed that I talk about urban more than once, I'll have to go back and fix it.

Sorry for no shout out Jami, but I'm still not convinced that anyone reads my profile, so you're not missing out. I do give you plenty of viral advertising.

So maybe my real question is whether I should ditch Match for something else. And if so, what should that be?

I like it. It seems straightforward and friendly. It gives the reader an idea of what she is really like without resorting to pretentious or "witty" repartee that only serves to mask one's true personality. The only thing I might change is all the acronyms or abbreviations or whatever in the favorite things. If it's important enough to put in the profile, it's important enough to be spelled out, because "HIMYM" isn't exactly totally transparent to some folks. But I really think the profile is very open and inviting. The fact that she's a cat person is simply icing on the proverbial cake. <3 kittehs.
