Wow, so either:

1) he almost burned down his apartment, now he’s gotten better at cooking(unrelated)
2) he almost burned down his brother’s apartment [but not to worry because] he’s gotten better cooking since then
3) he almost burned down his brothers apartment and got better at cooking from that

It’s even funnier if you read the last sentence:

“My cooking has improved since I almost burned down my brotherâ€™s apartment 7 years ago.”

…as two unrelated events, i.e., he almost burned down his brother’s apartment in a fit of temper 7 years ago, and oh yeah, by the way, his cooking has improved since then.

XD Oh man. That’s one guy you never let do the cooking.

I also assume people live on their own, which caught me off guard once when I called a guy and someone else answered.
